Whilst specialising in the re-use of historic buildings we are paradoxically committed to using new technologies or modern methods of construction wherever possible, ironically what we call ‘new’ is often a method that is long established in Europe or America, UK house building being notoriously slow to adapt.

Change is being forced upon the industry by National and European legislation in particular in the areas of energy efficiency, recycling and water conservation.

Energy performance certificates whilst currently, in our opinion, a crude measure are now compulsory for every home marketed in the UK. Energy prices however are more real and are only going one way. Increasingly householders are going to seek more energy efficient homes.

We have direct experience of the following areas of new technology which we have successfully incorporated into historic buildings:
Controls
Electrics
Heating
Insulation
Lighting
Plumbing
Rainwater recycling
Security
Ventilation
